Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in your community? Then join us as a Volunteer Fire Fighter! We are looking for dedicated individuals who are eager to serve and protect the residents of our community. As a Volunteer Fire Fighter, you will play a critical role in responding to emergency situations, providing first aid, and helping to keep our community safe.

Volunteer Fire Fighter Responsibilities & Duties

Responding to emergency calls and providing prompt and effective care to those in need
Working closely with other members of the firefighting team to ensure the safe and efficient resolution of emergency situations
Performing regular training and drills to maintain a high level of proficiency in firefighting techniques and first aid procedures
Conducting fire safety inspections and presenting fire prevention education programs to the community
Maintaining equipment and ensuring that it is in good working order

No experience necessary, we will provide the training

To join MLVFD as a volunteer firefighter, please complete both the Firefighter and Associate Membership applications. Associate Membership

MLVFD offers meaningful volunteer opportunities beyond active firefighting. Join us as an associate member to help shape the department's future and support our mission through fundraising and other essential non-operational tasks. To join as an associate member fill out the membership form above and turn it into a department member.

The following categories of membership are available in the MLVFD: Fire Fighter, Associate, Junior, Lifetime, and Honorary.

A candidate for Fire Fighter or Associate membership in the MLVFD shall be of legal age and make written application in person at a regular membership meeting. Members must reside in the MLVFD fire boundary area or apply to the Board of Directors for a waiver. The Membership Committee shall process the application prior to the next membership meeting. The candidate may be voted into membership at any regular membership meeting in the subsequent three months. If the candidate fails to attend any of the next three meetings, the application becomes void and the candidate must initiate a new application for membership. A two-third vote of members present is necessary to elect any candidate for membership.
